Product Overview

Chemical name: Ammonium Sulphate Nitrate
Abbreviation: ASN fertilizer, ASN 26-0-0 + 13S
Origin: Republic of Uzbekistan
Supplier and exporter: Agro Poly Chem LLC, Tashkent

ASN is a granular compound fertilizer where ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate are combined into a stable double salt. Each granule supplies:

  • Immediate nitrate nitrogen for quick crop response

  • Ammonium nitrogen for sustained uptake

  • Soluble sulphate sulphur to support protein and oil formation

ASN is especially suited for soils that are low in sulphur or heavily fertilized with urea and other S free nitrogen sources.

Typical Specification

These values are based on Uzbek feedstocks listed in official product passports.

  • Total nitrogen (N): 26 percent

  • Nitrate nitrogen: about 7 percent

  • Ammonium nitrogen: about 19 percent

  • Sulphur (as sulphate S): 13 percent

  • Moisture: max 0.3 percent

  • Granule size: 2 to 4 mm, minimum 90 percent within range

  • Bulk density: approx 1.0 to 1.1 t per cubic meter

  • Appearance: light gray to beige hard granules, low dust

Packaging options:

  • 1 t big bags

  • 50 kg polyethylene bags

  • Bulk shipments in rail wagons or containers

Production Method and Uzbek Origin

Our ASN 26-0-0 + 13S is produced by finishing plants that use only established Uzbek fertilizers:

  • Ammonium nitrate grade B (34.4 percent N) from Navoiyazot JSC

  • Ammonium sulphate (21 percent N, up to 24 percent S) from MAXAM Chirchiq JSC

Key process steps

  1. Raw material preparation
Granular ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate are screened, cleaned from dust and prepared as solutions or fine slurries.

  2. Melt or slurry formation
The two components are combined in an optimized ratio so that the final product contains 26 percent N and 13 percent S. A concentrated melt or slurry is formed where the double salt of ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate is created.

  3. Granulation
The hot melt is sprayed onto seed particles in a drum or fluid bed granulator to form uniform 2–4 mm granules with high mechanical strength.

  4. Drying, cooling and screening
Granules are gently dried to very low moisture, cooled, screened and treated with anti caking agents to ensure good flowability in storage and handling.

  5. Packing and export
The finished fertilizer is packed in export grade bags or loaded in bulk. From Uzbekistan it moves by rail to regional customers or to ports on the Caspian and Black Sea for global export.

This route makes use of Uzbekistan’s strong nitrogen fertilizer base and low cost natural gas, while avoiding the need for phosphoric acid or complex NPK plants.

Agronomic Benefits

  • Balanced nitrogen supply
Nitrate N gives immediate green up, while ammonium N feeds the crop for several weeks.

  • High sulphur content
Thirteen percent sulphur as sulphate supports protein formation in cereals and improves oil content in crops such as rapeseed, sunflower and soybean.

  • Lower ammonia losses than urea
ASN is far less prone to volatilization losses compared with surface applied urea, especially on calcareous soils.

  • Chloride free
ASN contains no chloride, making it suitable for sensitive crops and for high value horticulture when combined with appropriate potassium sources.

  • Excellent physical properties
Hard, free flowing granules with narrow size distribution allow easy application with standard spreaders and blending into NPK formulas.

  •

Typical Applications

ASN 26-0-0 + 13S can be used on a wide range of crops:

  • Wheat, barley, maize and other cereals

  • Rapeseed, sunflower and other oilseeds

  • Grassland, hay and silage crops

  • Sugar beet and sugarcane

  • Vegetables and potatoes in open field systems

Application methods:

  • Base dressing before sowing

  • Top dressing in early spring on winter crops

  • Split applications for maize and sugarcane

Standard application rates are similar to ammonium nitrate or CAN fertilizers and should be adjusted based on local soil tests and agronomic advice.

Safety and Handling

ASN is safer than pure ammonium nitrate but should still be handled as an oxidizing nitrogen fertilizer.

  • Store in dry, cool, well ventilated warehouses away from fuels and organic materials.

  • Avoid contamination with oil, charcoal, metals or other reactive substances.

  • Follow local regulations for storage and transport of nitrate based fertilizers.

  • Keep separate from strong acids and alkalis.

Full safety information is available in the product safety data sheet upon request.
