Product Overview

Carbon dioxide is listed in gaseous and liquid forms under the reference GOST 8050-85. The product specification distinguishes superior grade, first grade and second grade, with different minimum carbon dioxide contents and water-related quality requirements.

The formula is CO2. The minimum carbon dioxide volume fraction is 99.8% for superior grade, 99.5% for first grade and 98.8% for second grade. Buyers should identify both the required grade and product form when submitting an export enquiry.

Application Context

The catalogue lists metal-welding shielding applications, cooling and freezing applications, mould drying and other industrial uses. It also identifies beverage and food-sector uses. The intended end use should be stated clearly so that the quoted specification can be assessed against the buyer's requirements.

An application description does not establish every customer-specific acceptance requirement. Buyers with a defined end-use specification should provide it with the enquiry, including any impurity limits, test methods or documentation required for their procurement review.

Quality Comparison

For superior and first grades, the reference maximum concentration of mineral oil and mechanical impurities is 0.1 mg/kg. For second grade, this characteristic is subject to the test requirement identified as item 4.5.1.

The maximum water-vapour concentration is 0.037 g/m3 for superior grade and 0.184 g/m3 for first grade, at 20°C and 101.3 kPa. The second-grade specification gives a maximum water mass fraction of 0.1%. These are different measures and should be compared using their stated units and conditions.

For superior and first grades, the water mass-fraction entry refers to a test requirement under item 4.11. Include the grade and relevant test basis in your enquiry if water content is important to your acceptance specification.

Order Requirements

The requested physical form, quantity and destination are important parts of a useful quotation request. Specify whether the requirement is for gaseous or liquid carbon dioxide and identify the proposed application.

Packaging and shipment details should be confirmed in the quotation. If a particular supply format, marking arrangement or document set is required, describe it at the start of the discussion so that it can be considered with the grade specification.

Request A Quotation

Provide the required grade, quantity, destination and application, together with the preferred product form. Include the minimum CO2 content, water limits and any additional acceptance criteria.
