PRODUCT
Technical ethyl acetate is an organic solvent identified by the formula CH3COOC2H5 and reference standard GOST 8981-78. The appearance specification describes a transparent liquid without mechanical impurities.

The product table separates mark A highest grade, mark A first grade and mark B. Their purity, water, acidity and non-volatile residue requirements differ, making the full grade designation important for solvent procurement.

DOCUMENTED APPLICATIONS
The catalogue identifies ethyl acetate as a solvent for cellulose nitrates, cellulose acetate, fats and waxes. Documented industries include paint and varnish production, printing and artificial-leather manufacture. It also describes use in perfume compositions, fruit essences and laboratory extraction or chromatography.

At 20 °C, density is specified as 0.898–0.900 g/mL for mark A highest grade, 0.897–0.900 g/mL for mark A first grade and 0.890–0.900 g/mL for mark B. Colour limits are 5, 10 and 10 Hazen units in the same order.

Acids expressed as acetic acid are limited to 0.004%, 0.008% and 0.010%. Maximum non-volatile residue is 0.001%, 0.003% and 0.007%. The highest mark A grade additionally specifies aldehydes, expressed as acetaldehyde, at a maximum of 0.05%. A corresponding numerical aldehyde limit is not established for the other two columns.

When comparing a supplier certificate, keep the grade and each test's reporting basis together. Density or purity alone does not describe the complete reference specification.

PACKAGING
