PRODUCT
Technical formalin is a formaldehyde solution identified in the catalogue under GOST 1625-89. The specification table distinguishes FM top grade, FM first grade and FBM. The reference appearance is a colourless, transparent liquid.

The FM and FBM designations should be included in an enquiry because their methanol requirements differ substantially. A request based only on the general word formalin does not identify the complete reference specification.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
The documented application areas are metallurgy, oil and petrochemical industries, fur production and agriculture. These are general catalogue categories for technical assessment. They do not establish suitability for medical, consumer or other regulated uses.

For a professional enquiry, describe the actual industrial application and attach the relevant acceptance specification. This allows the required formaldehyde concentration, methanol content and impurity limits to be considered together.

GRADE SPECIFICATIONS
FM top grade specifies a formaldehyde mass fraction of 36.9–37.5%. FM first grade and FBM each specify 36.5–37.5%. These ranges are the values in the technical table and should be used for grade comparison.

Methanol content is specified at 4–8% for both FM grades. For FBM, methanol is limited to a maximum of 1%. This is a defined compositional difference between the product designations and should be reflected in the purchase requirement.

Iron is limited to 0.0001% for FM top grade, 0.0005% for FM first grade and 0.0001% for FBM. The reference also gives a maximum residue after burning of 0.008% for all three columns. If these characteristics form part of the buyer's acceptance testing, request their confirmation in the agreed specification and documentation.

PACKAGING AND DELIVERY PLANNING
The catalogue lists tanker supply and several container formats, including aluminium barrels, large polyethylene bottles and polyethylene canisters with capacity up to 20 dm³. The capacity describes the container; the quotation should separately confirm net product quantity.

For FM, the stated warranty storage period is three months from manufacture. A corresponding period for FBM is not established by the wording on the page. Any remaining shelf-life requirement at delivery should therefore be stated explicitly and confirmed for the quoted grade.
