Product Overview

Urea is listed for industrial and agricultural applications under GOST 2081-2010. The catalogue distinguishes Grade A, intended for industrial use, and Grade B, intended for crop growing, livestock farming and retail trade. Industrial applications include raw material for glues and resins. Agricultural enquiries should identify the intended use and the required Grade B quality level.

The distinction between A and B matters because their specification tables contain different nitrogen, biuret, moisture and particle-size requirements. An enquiry that names only “urea” leaves several commercial specifications open. State both the main grade and the required quality level so the quotation can be assessed against the correct limits.

Grade A Specifications

Grade A has Highest and First quality levels. Minimum nitrogen in dry substance is 46.3% for Highest and 46.2% for First. Maximum biuret is 0.6% and 1.4%, respectively. Maximum free ammonia for crystalline urea is 0.01% for both levels; for granular urea it is 0.02% for Highest and 0.03% for First.

For both Grade A quality levels, the catalogue sets maximum hygroscopic water at 0.3% and maximum total water at 0.6%. Specify whether the enquiry concerns crystalline or granular material, because the free-ammonia limit depends on that form.

Grade B Specifications

Grade B has Highest, First and Second quality levels. All three specify at least 46.2% nitrogen in dry substance, no more than 1.4% biuret and no more than 0.3% hygroscopic water. Maximum total water is 0.5% for Highest and First, and 0.6% for Second.

The mass fraction of granules from 1 to 4 mm is at least 94% for all three levels. The 2 to 4 mm fraction is at least 70% for Highest and 50% for First. Material below 1 mm is limited to 3% for Highest and 5% for First and Second. Include the particle-size distribution in the enquiry when it is part of the purchasing specification.

Packaging

The catalogue lists polypropylene sacks of 25 kg, 40 kg and 50 ± 1 kg, together with packed and bulk shipment formats. Identify the preferred sack size or bulk requirement in the enquiry. Confirm the quoted format, net weight and any packing or marking requirements for the intended destination.
